A Sequence is a Chaser bound to a single Scene whose steps share the same channel set

While a Chaser step can reference any QLC+ Function, a Sequence step is always a variation of one fixed Scene. All steps share the Scene’s enabled channels. When creating a new step, the previous step’s values are copied in, so users only adjust differences. A Sequence exists as a child of its bound Scene in the Function Manager. In Show Manager, Sequences always play Forward; in the Function Manager the full run-order options are available.

Examples

A 16-step colour chase on an LED bar is a Sequence bound to a ‘Bar’ scene: each step tweaks only the RGB values. Adding new fixtures later means adding a new track, not editing all steps.

Assessment

You have 20 Scenes controlling a single moving head at different positions. Is a Chaser or a Sequence more appropriate to step through them? Why?

“A Sequence has some of the functionality of a Chaser. It is equivalent to a Chaser in which each step is a single Scene and every one of those Scenes controls the same set of channels.”
