A VPT playlist auto-crossfades through a clip sequence, requiring each clip to outlast twice the crossfade
A playlist lets one source auto-advance through a defined clip sequence, crossfading between items. Each number in the playlist is a clip’s position in that source’s folder, and the crossfade time comes from the source’s own xfade setting. The critical constraint: no clip may be shorter than twice the crossfade time, because each clip must fade in from the previous and out to the next — if it is too short the playlist stalls. Still images use a separate slide-length parameter to set how long each is shown before crossfading, and you cannot mix videos and stills in one playlist.
Examples
With a 0.5 s crossfade, every clip must be at least 1 s long; the playlist ‘3 5 2 1’ loops clips in that order indefinitely while the playlist button is on.
Assessment
Your playlist has a 2 s crossfade time. What is the minimum clip length, and why? Which setting controls how long each still image shows in a playlist?
