A VC Submaster Slider scales the intensity of all other widgets in the same frame

A Virtual Console Slider set to Submaster mode controls the intensity of every other widget in the same frame, including the root Virtual Console area. It affects any ‘light-emitting’ functionality — functions on buttons and channel levels on level-mode sliders. A widget is controlled even if not yet active: a submaster at 50% means any button pressed afterward starts its function at 50% intensity. This lets an LD group all elements of a scene bank under one master fader without re-patching anything.

Examples

A Solo Frame contains 8 colour-scene Buttons and one Submaster Slider. At 50%, any button pressed plays its scene at half intensity. At 100% the Submaster is transparent.

Assessment

A Submaster is at 60% in a frame. A button is then pressed, starting a Scene with a dimmer channel at 255. What DMX value does the dimmer output? What happens if the Submaster is raised to 100%?

“When a slider is set to Submaster mode, it will control the intensity of every other widget in the same frame (please keep in mind that the main Virtual Console area is a frame too !)”
