DMX Dump captures a live DMX snapshot into a new or existing Scene for immediate reuse

DMX Dump takes a snapshot of current channel values being output and saves them as a Scene. Workflow: adjust lights interactively, then dump the result to name and store it. Options: all channels, or selected channels only (pre-populated from an existing Scene). The dumped Scene can be immediately added to a Chaser, or assigned to a Virtual Console Button or Slider, within the dump dialog. Values are captured before the Grand Master. Overwriting a Scene is irreversible without undo.

Examples

A LD adjusts 6 fixtures by hand to get a ‘sunset’ look, then DMX Dumps it, names it ‘Sunset Q3’, and adds it to the show Chaser.

Assessment

How do you dump only the channels already enabled in an existing Scene? What happens to the existing Scene’s values when you overwrite it with a dump?

“The DMX Dump functionality allows you to save the current DMX values that are being sent to the output universes at a particular moment. Basically it takes a "snapshot" of DMX channels and saves them for a later use.”
