Restarting several clips together in VPT needs per-source trigger buttons or a shared router controller

VPT does not automatically restart clips from frame 0 when a preset is recalled, so to make clips in several sources all start together you must arrange a trigger. Method one: click the ‘t’ (trigger) button on each source before saving the preset, so the preset carries a trigger command and every recall restarts those clips. Method two: map one controller in the router to the ‘trig’ parameter of each source, so a single button (or cue command) fires them all at once without touching the trigger buttons. A third variant sends the same router trigger from a cuelist via an OSC-formatted message. The trigger-button approach is simpler but requires re-saving presets; the router approach is more flexible and preset-independent.

Examples

For a three-surface synchronized reveal, enable the ‘t’ trigger on each of the three sources then store the preset; recalling it restarts all three clips from frame 0 together.

Assessment

Give two ways to restart three video sources simultaneously in VPT and state the advantage of the router method over the trigger-button method.
