Each Resolume layer has separate A, V, and M sliders fading audio, video, and both

Every Resolume layer carries its own vertical faders: ‘A’ fades that layer’s audio in and out, ‘V’ fades its video, and ‘M’ (master) controls both together. Because audio and video are on independent faders, a performer can fade a layer’s video to black while its audio keeps running, or silence a layer without dropping its visuals. This A/V separation is a key live-performance move for building transitions and for de-coupling the soundtrack from the picture during a set.

Examples

Play a clip on layer 2. Pull its V slider to zero — video disappears but audio continues. Pull the A slider to zero to silence it. Use M to fade the whole layer out at once.

Assessment

A performer wants to cross-fade the visual from layer 2 to layer 3 while keeping layer 2’s audio playing. Which sliders on which layers do they touch?

“the 'A' slider fades the audio of the layer in and out. The 'V' slider does the same for video. You can also use the 'M' (master) slider to control both at the same time.”
