Perform Kit mode preserves live parameter tweaks across pattern changes without auto-saving

In normal operation, changing a pattern reloads its saved kit, erasing any live tweaks made since loading. Perform Kit mode ([FUNC]+[PRESET/KIT]) breaks this: parameter changes are not auto-saved, and the current (tweaked) kit persists when you switch patterns. This enables a smooth evolving performance — gradual filter sweeps, volume automation, or sound design changes carry across pattern transitions without the kit snapping back. A flashing ‘P’ on screen confirms the mode is active. To reload the kit instantly: [PRESET/KIT]+[NO]. To save the modified kit permanently: [PRESET/KIT]+[YES]. Importantly, Perform Kit mode changes are lost on power-off unless saved. The temporary save/reload commands ([FUNC]+[YES]/[NO]) still function within Perform Kit mode as restore points for the current tweaked state.

Examples

Start Perform Kit mode. Play pattern A01, slowly sweep filter cutoff on the kick. Switch to A02 — the tweaked kick persists. Continue building up the mix. At the climax, save the modified kit.

Assessment

Why does Perform Kit mode lose changes when you switch it off or power down? What is the key combination to permanently save a kit modified during Perform Kit mode?

“In PERFORM KIT mode, any changes made to the preset parameters are not auto-saved, and kits are not loaded when you change the pattern; instead, you keep the previous (tweaked) kit.”
