Glicol's sp sample set is separate from Strudel's dirt-samples and requires its own samples folder
Glicol’s sp sampler node looks for samples in a local samples/ folder that must be separately provided. It is a completely different sample bank from Strudel’s dirt-samples — the two are not interchangeable. If the folder is absent or a sample name is wrong, that voice is silent (a sample-not-found error). When running offline or without the folder, the fallback is to use Glicol’s built-in synthesized drum nodes (bd, hh, sn) or an oscillator chain, which require no sample files.
Examples
sp \808bd fails if no samples/ folder. Fallback: bd (built-in synth drum) or sin 110 >> mul 0.2.
Assessment
Identify the two alternative approaches to getting a kick drum sound in Glicol when the samples folder is unavailable.
