The physical connection standard for Eurorack (Doepfer A-100 and compatible) is the 3.5 mm mono mini jack, commonly called a patch cable. Cables come in various lengths (15 cm to 120 cm) and colors. The same cable type carries audio, CV, gate, and trigger signals; the distinction is purely contextual. This simplicity — one connector type for everything — is part of what makes patching fast in a live context.

Examples

A short 15 cm cable connects a nearby envelope generator to a VCA. A long 80 cm cable routes audio from a VCO in one corner of the rack to a filter in the opposite corner.
